All My Angers was commissioned and funded by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, within the "Collections" priority Composer's Commissions Program, implemented by the Institute of Music and Dance; it was premiered at the Music Academy in Cracow's Florianka Recital Hall in May of 2013. It is dedicated to the Cracow Duo, for whom it was written: Jan Kalinowski, cellist, and Marek Szlezer, pianist.
WOJCIECH WIDŁAK (b.1971) is an award-winning composer, music critic, organist, and teacher. He received his PhD in composition and music theory, as well a degree in organ from the Academy of Music in Cracow, where he worked with Marek Stachowski and Jan Jargon. He also studied at the Danish Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen with Hans Abrahamsen. His large creative output is quite varied: symphonic, chamber, vocal and solo instrumental works of his have been performed in Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Germany, Great Britain, France, the Netherlands, Russia, the Czech Republic, Azerbaijan, Slovakia, Macedonia, Belarus, USA, and Japan, at festivals which include: Gothenburg Art Sounds, Moscow Autumn, Macedonian Music Days, Minsk Spring, European Composers' Informal Meeting, Warsaw Music Encounters, and Alkagran in Czechowice. He is a member of the Society of Polish Composers, and since its founding in 1998, he has been a member of the European Composers Informal Meeting, as well as holding membership in the Polish Society of Church Music Performers, and the Committee for Church Music of Cracow's Archdiocese. Since 2005, he has been the head of the Department of Composition at the Music Academy in Cracow.
